The first step in Environ’s pigmentation routine, and the one people skip when they are impatient. Mela-Prep is a lightweight lotion built around three ingredients that are each well established for uneven tone on their own, and better together.
This lotion helps improve the appearance of uneven skin tone and visible sun damage, leaving skin looking brighter and more evenly toned.
Why it's worth it
- Niacinamide (vitamin B3), one of the most reliable and best tolerated ingredients for the look of uneven tone
- Alpha-arbutin, a targeted brightening ingredient with a strong track record
- SepiWhite MSH (undecylenoyl phenylalanine), a specialized ingredient for the appearance of discoloration
- Helps improve the look of visible sun damage
- Light lotion texture that layers under everything without pilling
- 60 ml, applied only to the areas you are targeting, so it lasts
- A sensible, low-irritation place to begin with pigmentation
Start here. Add later.
This is genuinely a good standalone. Niacinamide and alpha-arbutin do not need a supporting cast to be worth using, and if you are early into addressing uneven tone, starting with this one product and being consistent will take you further than buying three and using them sporadically.
How to use
After cleansing and toning, apply to the darkened areas of the skin, morning and evening. Follow with your moisturiser. Full face is fine too if your tone is uneven all over.
Running the full Mela-Smart routine? This goes first, then the Mela-Fade Serum System, then Intense C-Boost Mela-Even Cream, then your vitamin A moisturiser.
Broad-spectrum SPF every morning, without exception. Working on pigmentation while skipping sunscreen is how people spend six months going nowhere.
Be patient with it. Tone changes slowly. Think months, and judge it on photos rather than the mirror, because daily progress is invisible but three months of progress is not.
Size
60 ml (2.03 fl oz) PET bottle. Twenty-four months unopened. Once opened, use within 10 to 12 weeks. Keep it cool, out of direct light and heat, and do not decant it into another bottle.
Not sure whether your pigmentation is sun damage, melasma, or post-inflammatory marking? They respond differently. Book a consult and we’ll figure out what you are actually dealing with. Local pickup is free at the studio in Valleyview.
